Story

Keep reading to the bottom of the page – don't stop at the feet (You'll see).

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room.
Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, 'Things aren't always what they seem.'

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife.
After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest.
When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears.
Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused.
The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.
'Things aren't always what they seem,' the older angel replied.

'When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall...
Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it.
'Then last night as we slept in the farmer’s bed, the angel of death came for his wife.
I gave him the cow instead.
Things aren't always what they seem.'

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should.
If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage.
You just might not know it until some time later.

Right Now

5 ways to discipline children without smacking.

5 WAYS TO DISCIPLINE CHILDREN WITHOUT SMACKING - BY MICHAEL GROSE

The issue of smacking as a discipline method has reared its head once more. Recently, Channel’s 9’s 60 Minutes showed a segment on smacking claiming that 3 in 4 Australian parents hit their kids to keep them in line.

As I have stated in my blog I am quite surprised by this high proportion of parents who still lay claim to using smacking as a discipline measure. Sure, there isn’t a parent around who hasn’t felt like smacking when they are on the receiving end of their children’s poor, challenging or uncooperative behaviour. We have all experienced such anger and frustration but to actually lay claim to smacking being a legitimate discipline tool is a very different thing.

My advice is to leave smacking out of your discipline toolkit. Smacking usually involves a lack of skill. Look for alternative skills that you can use. Practise the alternatives in low stress situations so that when you are under stress (when we are under stress we tend to revert to our lowest levels of skill), you will respond differently.

Here are five alternatives to use rather than smacking:
Avoid the first impulse: Often your first impulsive reaction will actually encourage a poor behaviour to continue. Do something different or out of left-field. Sometimes kids will behave poorly to test you out, to gain a little attention or just to show you that you can’t make them do anything they don’t want to do. When we respond impulsively we often reinforce their goals.

Take a break yourself: Sometimes it is better to leave a situation temporarily if you feel you are about to break. Make sure children are safe and take a break for a time to regain some perspective. Find a place in your house, such as the bathroom, where you can have some space or even go outside where children’s poor behaviour never seems as bad.

The thinking spot: There are times when children need to be given the opportunity to reflect on their poor behaviour. Every house needs a ‘thinking spot’, that is a place where children can go to think about what they have done and how their behaviour may affect others. The ‘thinking spot’ doesn’t have to be in a bedroom – it can be a chair or a step in a public space. The key is to establish ‘the thinking space’ concept when everyone is calm, not at the point of anger.

Consequential learning: When kids are less than perfect we need to move into action rather then verbal mode but the action doesn’t have to be a smack. Let kids experience the consequences of their actions so babies who kick their legs on the change table can be quickly removed rather than smacked.

Toddlers who play jack-in-the-box in the bath can be taken out of the bath. Young children who refuse to clean away their toys can have them removed by the ‘silent maid’ for a day or two. Kids who throw tantrums will learn that their parents will disappear. Let consequences do their magic rather than physical force.

Ignore some of the poor stuff and catch them being good: Parenting young children is not dissimilar to training a young puppy where you need to ignore much of their poor behaviour while praising the good stuff. If you do ignore poor behaviour (and some of it you cannot ignore) then you really need to withdraw your attention and place it elsewhere.

Then you must become really expert at catching kids doing the right thing and reflect back to them verbally (tell them what they have done well), visually (smile and let your face light up) and physically (a pat on the back or a hug will always amplify praise) what they have done well.

From my perspective those parents who rely on smacking usually lack the skills and tools to deal with children when their behaviour is less than perfect. The good part is that skills can easily be learned. Adults, like children, can learn new behaviours and skills to help them become better, more effective parents

This is the most touching and inspiring video ever...

One day, a son asks his dad "Daddy, would you like to run a marathon with me?"The father says "yes". Andthey run their first marathon together.有一天,兒子問爸爸:「爸爸你和我ㄧ起去跑馬拉松,好嗎?」爸爸說好。

Another time, the son asks his dad again"Daddy, would you like to run a marathon with me?"The father says"yes son".第二次,兒子又問爸爸:? u爸爸你和我ㄧ起去跑馬拉松,好嗎?」爸爸又說好。

One day, the son asks his father"Daddy, would you run the Ironman with me?"The Ironman is the most difficulttriathlon ever (4 kms swimming, 180 kms bikin, 42 km running?)有一天,兒子問爸爸:「爸爸和我ㄧ起去參加鐵人競賽,好嗎?」鐵人競賽是最困難的比賽,必須游泳 四公里、腳踏車180公里、跑步42公里。
And the dad says "yes".爸爸說好,我們去參加。

The story looks simple until you watch the following clip. Just amazing, how much can love be....?以上故事看起來很簡單,請點選以下連結,觀賞影片,你將會了解愛的偉大!我用感動的淚水向這位父親致意,也分享給大家

Photos of Chinese Beheaded by Japanese in Sino-Japan War (WWII)

These photos was sent to me thru email. These photos was taken during WWII and it happens in China. I believed the photos can somehow create discomfort to some viewers especially those chinese peoples... but my posts here is not about bringin out sentiments of chinese japanese but rather to share the cruelty of war without any feeling and mercy.
Just in case those who felt i should remove the photos, do let me know and i will take it out. Sorry in advanced.

These photos was taken long before i was born. For me these photos represent values to history. We who borned after the war might heard stories of WWII and not really can imagine the cruetly of the war..but with these photos, we able to learn that war will never a good idea in this century.

English 2

okey i felt this was quite common by rite. Anyway I think a lot of people might wrongly used the greetings... especially good evening and good night. :-D

We say "good morning" at any time in the morning from when we wake up until about lunchtime.

We'd say "good afternoon" at any time in the afternoon after lunch, until about 6pm.
After that we'd use "good evening".

We use "good night" when we are saying good bye to a person who we won't see again until the morning.

So you either use it to someone before you go to bed, or you say it to someone you are leaving in the evening.

English 1

Okey. here is the english lesson i read at the website. Quite interesting website and below is the lesson for making requests from the website. Simple and easy to understand.

Asking someone to do something for you

"Could you open the door for me, please?"
"Would you mind opening the door for me, please?"
"Can you open the door for me, please?'

Speaking tip: could and can are followed by the verb without to. Would you mind is followed by the verb and -ing.

Asking if you can do something

"Can I use your computer, please?"
"Could I borrow some money from you, please?"
"Do you mind if I turn up the heating?"
"Would you mind if I turned up the heating?"

Speaking tip: Could is more polite that can.

Do you mind if…" is followed by the verb in the present tense, but would you mind if… is followed by the verb in the past tense.

When you're using these two sentences, don't use please. It's already polite enough!

The monkeys the coconuts and the cents

in my hometown, what i commonly remembered was someone ( person ) will climb the coconut trees to plug coconuts from tree to tree. I remembered my mum told me that there's one time where the person who climb the coconut's tree fall down and hurt badly. After many years later, she met the guy on the wheelchair at the hospital. That was many years ago when the incident happened.
Now..for safety purposed, beruk ( monkeys ) was replaced to do the job.

hv a nice day!

Nyonya Kueh Chang (Dumpling)

Okey.. last weekend my family and me went back to hometown. Last week we went back due to 1. my wife's friend wedding and 2. my brother's open house. Terengganu - apa sudah jadi.

The story of our stadium at Terengganu quite very interesting. Everyone is blaming each others. They still trying to figure out the causes of collapse.

here is the reason why the stadium which is newly build collapse in not even 1 year. ...

why on earth they invited ultraman for any league...

....now the gov doesn't need to spent more people money to do investigation....

Don't copy if you can't paste!

A popular motivational speaker was entertaining his audience.

He Said : "The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who wasn't my wife!" The audience was in silence and shock. The speaker added: "And that woman was my mother!" Laughter and applause.

A week later, a top manager trained by the motivational speaker tried to crack this very effective joke at home. He was a bit foggy after a drink.
He said loudly to his wife who was preparing dinner, "The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who was not my wife!"
The wife went; "ah!" with shock and rage. Standing there for 20 seconds trying to recall the second half of the joke, the manager finally blurted out "....and I can't remember who she was!"

By the time the manager regained his consciousness, he was on a hospital bed nursing burns from boiling water
Moral of the story:

Don't copy if you can't paste!
