How to Prevent a Sore Throat from Progressing to a Cold
By Dr. Ben Kim on March 09, 2008
Natural Health Solutions.
Before I share a great little tip on how to stop a sore throat from progressing into a week-long cold, please know that periodically experiencing a cold or the flu can actually be helpful to your health.. If you have no idea why this is, please view the following popular article that I wrote on this topic:
What Most Doctors Won't Tell You About Colds and
flu to us.
You just won't get this information on why colds and flus can help you stay healthy over the long run from medical textbooks and mainstream media - please consider sharing it with family and friends.
Although experiencing a cold or the flu once in a while can help rid your body of your weakest cells, I'm willing to bet that there are times when you would really prefer to delay such a period of cleansing and malaise.
Here's how you can stand a good chance of preventing a cold
from developing: As soon as you experience that sore, tickly feeling in your throat that precedes a full-blown cold, gargle with warm salt water.
And when I say gargle, I mean really gargle; take in a mouthful of warm salt water, look up at the ceiling, and gargle aggressively. You may want to tap at your throat (the Adam's apple region) with your fingers while you gargle to encourage the warm salt water to trickle deeply into your throat. Gargle like this several times with a glass of warm salt water, and repeat as often as possible throughout the day.
Warm salt water can remove viruses from the tonsils and adenoids that line the back of your throat region. Viruses that cause colds and flus typically get caught by your tonsils and adenoids before they spread through your body. Your tonsils and adenoids are important parts of your immune system because they are located near the entrance of your breathing passages, and they serve as a first line of defense against undesirable airborne microorganisms and substances.
This, by the way, is why it is best not to remove tonsils and adenoids from your throat region. Chronic swelling of tonsils and adenoids is best addressed by reducing sugar intake, adopting a minimally processed diet that is rich in fresh plant foods, and supporting immune system health by getting plenty of rest, exercise, and exposure to sunlight and fresh air.
Cold salt water may also help to remove viruses from your tonsils and adenoids, but warm salt water tends to be more effective. Warm water may help to melt the fatty coating that protects viruses that cause the cold and flu.
What if you gargle for all you're worth but still end up developing a full-blown cold?
Get lots of rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take comfort in knowing that countless viruses are at work destroying your weakest cells. And don't forget to blow your nose as often as it runs; help your body get rid of what it wants to get rid of.

3 - Barley 100 gm
4 - Black Seeds (kalunji) 100 gm

H1N1 Prevention
Not really sure ...but lately i got a lots of email talking about prevention and how to avoid H1N1. Whether it is true or otherway round, you guys decide it.
JUST A SMALL BUT MEANINGFUL INFO FM ME TO YOU AND YR FRIENDS...MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF H1N1 SINCE IT PRACTICALLY HIT US LIKE A TIME BOMB.....
My staff was crying herself sick on Tuesday morning...was told that her son was confirmed of H1N1 in his Uni at Kangar, Perlis...worse was that when he was bedridden 2 days the warden didnt even bother to sent to hospital till his dad came fm KL and with his friends assistance brought him to GH Kangar.... No one bothered in the hospital and he was put in the normal ward for another 2 days!!! (imagine the amount of people he has infected!!) .....after 2 days and his eyes were turning yellow and saliva greenish...he was put in quarantined room...
His mom practically fainted just telling me the story.. cant do much cos she does not have enough money to go to the north with the father... First thing we did was made her call the hospital and insist that they sent him to Sg.Buloh Hospital or any other hospital in KL since they seemed to be more alert and more equipt...they refused of course...so I sent her off to Kangar the same day to solve the problem. Whilst this was happening, I had a call from one Ustaz who was in town to "help cure" another H1N1 child in Shah Alam....and was told this simple prescription by him.....
EAT MINIMUM 6 GREEN APPLES A DAY AND FRESH ORANGE JUICE
..... for those with sore throat please blend the apples and keep on taking till your fever disappear and yr symtoms are gone....I cannot explain it but the child in Shah Alam was ok too after taking this tip.... my staff's son was given the apple juice for the whole day on Monday/Tuesday and he was out of the fever yesterday Wednesday... .she called me and was crying on the phone to say that her son was out of ICU and was able to eat normally...all these happened within just 4 days today (thursday 6 august)...
This is just to share with my fellow sisters and brothers and hope this small info could assist others as well, No harm in trying and anything can happen!!!!

Claims Tribunal Court
Dear All,
I concur this message about Tribunal court claims. To support this story, let me tell u guys about my experience two months ago.
I bought a robotic floor vacuum cleaner for slightly over rm1000 after believing the sales talk and seeing it perform live on the counter top. It seemed to do whatever was promised there and then. So, I got one for myself after that.
After trying it out for 4 days at home, I was totally dissapointed and fed-up with the unit in terms of performance output and convenience of use. So, I brought it back to the outlet in 1-Utama for a refund. Of course their 1st reaction was to persuade you to exchange it for some other electrical appliances but I insisted on a refund only. They stood firm and refused my request. So, I did exactly like what was said in this e-mail, I told them that I will bring this issue to the Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia and file a court case against them. Immediately, the supervisor called his boss and after repeating the same speech to him myself through the phone, he relented and gave me back my money in full.
So, guys n gals out there, know your rights and STAND BY IT! I did...and I got back my hard earned money - rm1000!

Contract Law In MALAYSIA
Legal Issue on Contract Law in Malaysia
This is something I like to share with you from one of my seminars recently. If you find this informative, please circulate. It was conducted by A/P Catherine Tay on Legal issues in E-commerce. Note that most of the time, the receipt / invoice you received from the merchant carries this exclusion clause or similarly worded statement:
'Goods sold are not returnable' or 'No refund once sold'. The thing that I have learnt from her is that : 'As long as your good is purchased for home use and not for business ( i.e. to be resold), the above exclusion clause is VOID. That means, as long as the good is defective, regardless of what is worded, you CAN get back all your money spent. You do not have to accept a repair on the good or an exchange. You CAN ask for a full refund. AND you are LEGALLY right and entitled to! What a relevation!! And most of the time the merchant will refuse to return you your money.
Her advice? >From her own experience ( and no less than 7 and all successful!) , she will threaten the merchant with four words:
'SEE YOU IN COURT!' The court here refers to the Small Claims Tribunal Court . However, you don't have to tell them what court! All you have to pay is RM10 admin fee and the loser (the merchant) will have to refund you the money PLUS the admin fee! She shared this with us because she felt that even educated people are cowed by such unfair wordings (which includes her jaded friends who are not lawyers). Please try not to let the merchant fleece you the next time you have a defective product. I know where to file this. On the 16th floor of Putra Place (The Mall opposite Putra World Trade Centre) .
The form cost RM5.00. The Tribunal will settle within 2 months period. Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia , Tingkat 16, Putra Place , 100, Jalan Putra , 50622 KUALA LUMPUR <>Tel: 03 - 40492300 / 40424181 Fax: 03 - 40424259
